The Water Babies

My Mum is a true mermaid. She lives in New Zealand  and pretty much stays in the ocean starting from October and until April. She got me this beautiful book as a gift (it's about her!)
I really loved the combination of gorgeous photography and drawings.

  1. Wow, these are lovely pictures. I wasn't expecting this at all.

The Water Babies by Charles Kingsley always makes me cry buckets. If you are not familiar with it, it is a sad tale of how harsh life was in Victorian England and never fails to make me cry when the children 'who are fed to much gin or left to tip the boiling kettle' are taken by the water. I am tearing up now.

I am off to get a tissue. *sniff*

    1. Oh dear... I was actually going to read it in the next few days :( It does sound really sad, not at all what I've imagined.
