About Me

My photo
Hi, My name is Irene Owens. My greatest passion in life is Art. I love drawing portraits, painting whimsical pictures and illustrating for children. I also collect children's books and hope to one day get one of my own picture books published. I have a shop on Etsy where I sell my prints, hand painted pendants and mirrors. In this blog you will find artists that inspire me, brilliant handmade creations and my own art. I hope you enjoy my posts.

In The Nursery

I have painted these pictures for my son's room and I wanted to frame them nicely. I didn't want to use frames with glass, a panicky lady in me has horrific images of Riley breaking the glass somehow and hurting himself. But I still want to protect my illustrations. I thought it would be easy enough to find a frame with thin plastic glass. However, after raiding all nearby stationery shops, I couldn't find anything that was even close to what I've had in mind. So for now we have prints on the walls and the originals are hidden in my folders. I would still like to put the originals up though... Does anybody have any idea how I can frame these?

  1. Hello Irene

Thank you for visiting my blog and for your lovely comment - I really like your work and the pictures you did for your son are incredible! I happen to know that you can get frames from Great Art which have a transparent non glass front to them, you might want to google them and see if they suit what you're after. Lovely to meet you in Blogland!
